Photographer’s Note
Taken at Campos do Jordão' state park, the Horto Florestal, the oldest park in Brazil, only 8 miles from Capivari. This vast preserved area has many trails where the local fauna, including the suçurana (a species of puma), the quati (a cross between a ferret and a raccoon) and several endangered species including the purple-chested parrot, roam free. You'll also be surrounded by the strangely beautiful Araucaria brasiliensis (local pine trees).
Many of the trails pass through rivers and waterfalls. The best is reached over the Galharada trail, where a hike of 4,600 meters through dense vegetation gets you to the cascade of the same name. Though the waterfall is small, it's great for a quick swim.
Scanned from negative.

Hi, Carmem,
Great composition! I like the green overtone of the picture, broken only by the red little bridge, and also like the reflections on the lake. Fantastic! Nice handling of the light too. Good note. TFS,

Hi Carmen
Nice of seeing your post again.
Well, it's still a good work from a scanned negative. All the compostion and details are well seen. Except the effect of scanning that made the image a little over-exposed.
Well done, Carmen.

Ola Carmen,

(revised) Very creative idea. Thanks for the other links. The different angle showed the little waterfall that you can't really see in this photo which is the cause of the horizontal line under this view of the bridge.

Hello Carmen,
To be honest I really prefer the framing of the WS, it is more dynamic with the bridge more diagonal, also the big tree on the left is disturbing for me.

Didier

Celso

Hi Carmen,
Very nice photo with rich and nicely saturated colors (Fuji?). You also did a great job scanning!
And good memories too, I was at Campos do Jordao this weekend!
Best regards, un abrazo,
Carlos

Hi Carmem. I do like this wild and wonderful capture. It's busy but not overly so. Great use of the bridge and reflection as a colorful and dynamic focal point. Tfs Carmem.

Carmem, you have a very interesting color palette working for you in this image, a quality that you don't get from digital photography. But the most interesting aspect is the fall giving the impression of beeing a mirror splitting the image in two.
Muito obrigado, parabens,
Enrique
