Photographer’s Note

Yes, its true, I was a little exaggerating in post processing, but I just want to present how it seems the late afternoon view on the neighbouring mountains at the low sunset.
The pic had been made on the ski grounds in Nassfeld in Austria using the polarizer. In post processing I have accent the saturation and I add another blue colour. For better optical effect on the end I was perform a strong clarify.

Yes, it is post-processed, and considerably so, but I like it, Max. Well, as you know, blue is my favorite color ;-) The snow on the trees in front has an amazing glow to it, giving them a bit of a 3D feel, as has the light falling on the mountain on the back. Even without the PS work, this has all the merits of a beautifully framed and well set-up winter landscape shot. Hope you had a nice time skiing there.

And you did th Post Processing so well done, Max! This is another shot that makes me wish a hot chocolate. Great colors, nice subject. I love the deep blue you added. Brr, I'm freezing here.

Great blue. For this shot, the PS work enhances the mood that you're trying to create so it is but appropriate. Thanks for sharing to me a feel of what this season is from your side of the world.

The trees looks fine and the background works well for the composition. But I don't know Max maybe the blue comes out a bit "artifical". Difficult to say as the blue winter light has so many facettes.

Your composition is also very good as the trees copy exactly the mountain shape. Very curious...

Maybe you have exaggerated a bit with the colour. Directly out of a fairytale ;-)
What I like in this image is the "competition" between the trees and the mountains, all pointing to the sky.

Superb shot Max.The post-processing is not as exagerated as it first appears. As anyone who has spent time going up a mountain on a ski-lift can attest, the sky blues on a winter day are very close to this.
The reason for the dark blue is that you are looking up the mountain as you climb with no view of the lower horizon sky where humidity and other factors contribute to a much lighter blue.When you see an entire sky,your eyes blend the two tones automatically...but in your photo,the dark blue of the higher sky provides a vivid contrast against the white of the snow.Perhaps the mountain blues have been hyped a bit too much but that can be forgiven for photograghic considerations:-)

Your editing is really artistic here, the blue color gives wonderful mystique to the picture. The light falls on the trees as if you used a really strong flash that lit up all the trees but not the mountain. The composition is nice - the shapes of the treetops matches the mountaintops. Great picture Max.

Wonderful shot. I love all that blue and the light on the mountain. To me the trees are standing guard awaiting something coming from that light. There is a mysterious or mystic feel to that shot.

The blue is "surnatural" but it give a very nice contrast to that picture. This make me think to the little ball with water and winter landscape in... the one you shake and it makes snow floating everywhere in the ball... Nice shot.

This looks like a Christmas card picture. It is a very nice colour blue and the snow on the tree branches is very effective. Even though it has been processed quite a lot, it is a very nice composition.

haha, oke, you got a little too enthousiastic, but it works for me. I can imagine what colors and atmosphere you were looking for. I like the repaeting pointed shapes of the trees and mountains. Powerfull composition. (points tomorrow)

Fantastic shot and excellent work with polarizer. Wonderful composition and contrast between trees and blue background. The blue colour is a little bit "agressive", but in this composition the blue colour looks very pleasant. Well done.

Great scene Max. This shot is very attractive : excellent idea of framing, with the 3 firs in front and tne mountains behind. You were a little exaggerating in post processing? You were right, great result!

Very cool post processing. A gorgeous deep blue. Nice composition to boot.

I do think the blue background needs a tweaking though, it looks a little mottled in spots.

It almost looks like you used a flash on the trees, but I guess you could have been high enough up to still be catching sunlight.
Beautiful colours, and very eye-catching.
