Photographer’s Note
Architectural detail of an old barn as one can see some much in Valais particularly. Often, these old barns are assembled on pile (on plates of rock). This photo was taken on the roadside close to the village of Vex

Very nice and well captured detail, Isabelle. Texture and light are excellent, I like those diagonals.

Magnifique !

The texture of the wood - especially the ends - is brillant. I like the way we can clearly see the joints. Thank you for sharing it.

The texture of the wood, yes.. but also the great light on it, makes it alive, I would want to reach out and touch it just to feel the great warmth of this old wood bathed by the sun. Very, very nice and well done.

Very nice "wooden" shot. I like details, wooden structure, diagonals and "game of light and shadows". very well framed. Excellent picture.

Reminds me of Easter. Why? Because then I'm used to go skiing in the mountains, and we always take a break at the wooden houses like this. We could do it earlier in the winther also, but in the Easter the sun is getting higher on the sky, and we really feel the sun... and then the wooden wall get as dry as here.
Great shoot, great angel, texture and composition.

A beautiful picture Isabelle. I like the texture and the composition and the light. And it speaks resistance!
I've seen these barns, especially in Zermatt, standing on piles of rock, and couldn't quite understand why. To level them or to keep the rodents away? I think we have a similarity in parts of mid and northern Sweden, but I'm not sure.

Bien vu!

A very well chosen angle Isabelle. And the corner is just as we do them too.
I think the detail you describe with a flat rock on a pile as supports has a practical function. The flat rock is a safeguard against rats and mice, the can´t climb up and down.

This captures not only the texture of the wood but also the simplicity and strength of the barn's construction.

Hello Isabelle. Merci.

Yes, this one is excellent. For all the reasons everybody else already listed - to me, the outstanding thing is really how crisp and brilliant the texture of the wood looks. Nicely composed, with the corner of the barn right of the center of your image. A remarkable result, Isabelle.

Great play of material, textures, shapes, colours and light... And still with all those elements, a very simple and elegant image.
Well observed and executed!

This wooden element its perfect too. Marvelous light and sharpness (maybe even too much) makes this composition very attractive. I classify this pic to art the division, what its proved your sense for the art.

Isabelle,
Very nice patern composition (left is cold / right is warm ). Nicely unsharped.
my only critic would be mabe the white outline around the frame, I think it brings out too many highlights out of the image.
Well done otherwise.
Merci d'avoir partager.
Stephane
