I need some water! Photo

Photographer’s Note

I posted the my last image with sea (or any other water pool) the 23th of December 2005...
I had tried to post mountains view....
but after 12 images without water....

I took that image in the summer 2000, from the small boat of Pascal, a guy of Paris that at that time lived in Bora.
We were around the colorful Bora Bora Lagoon.
The small island is a Motu, that are the tiny islands on the borders of the Atoll.

Meravigliosi colori, Paolo!! E poi mi piace molto quando fai queste foto minimaliste, semplici ma ricche, con pochi elementi, soprattutto solo colori. Ma è davvero così bella Bora Bora? Temevo che fosse tanto turistica!

I like the simplicity of this image - the landscape is reduced just to blocks of vivid colour, with just enough additional details - the island and the clouds - to put it all into context. Looks like an idyllic place!

Excelent scanned image and wonderful simple composition. I like your low angle and horizon with the little island at left. Excelent perspective, good colors, light and sharpness. The contrasting blue sky and a emerald sea water. Very well seen, done and composed. Congratulations for this nicely captured paradise. Nicely framed simple seascape, and a very good scan. Interesting to reflect that only 5 years ago film was still the main medium for photography, I've just heard that Nikon have now completely stopped making film cameras.

I remember this clear water full of fishes...

superb composition, off center and minimalistic. As always, blues and greens dominate your islands shots. Superb scan too, this one you got just right. The island stands out from the sky and water so strongly.

The composition here is superb with excellent positioning of the elements in the frame.

The turquoise of the sea is stunning and the baby blue sky with the fluffy clouds makes the composition more dynamic. And the small dotted island, very well positioned in the frame. What interesting composition with these two very contrasting images of the water and the sky and yet they harmonized beautifully. I like the inclusion of the little island as it acts like a middle man, holding the sky and the sea together. I am also much attracted to the beautiful textures and effect of the green water. They are indeed very lovely. Excellent shot!!! All good wishes.

BASTA!!! non è giusto... noi qui a "sgobbare" dietro la scrivania e tu che ci mostri Paradisi in Terra come questo... ok, la foto è stupenda, i colori da favola, il cielo così azzurro, il mare così ...(probabilmente chi ha coniato il termine VERDE ACQUA ha visto questo posto)... quell'isoletta che aspetta solo i nostri sogni... ma tu non puoi continuare così... ci fai del male!!! ... :o))

I love this water color, so close to emerald, and I find good you had clouds here (unlike in your today's shot) to give more interest to the sky.

Colors are amazing, marvellous ...
The lagoon color look like the color of my Lahuna Verde shot but I can imagine a pleasant temperature, not négative temperature and froozen wind ;-)

:-) Paolo, you are so wonderful when you say "but after 12 images without water"... this is so cute :-) and very Paoloesque! Of course, whenever I think of water, who else to think of but you, Segnor Poseidon of TE?
This turquoise surrounding the island is spectacular and can understand your comment very very well. Magnificient shot, I wish I could dive down, surrounded by it all... but have to make do with the bathtub for now... ;-)
