Photographer’s Note
Granada is one of the cities I liked the best in Spain. It is home to the amazing Alhambra, one of the marvels of universal architecture, a series of palaces and gardens built under the Nazari Dynasty (I will post some pictures later).
While we were walking around the city, I saw this nice fountain and the rainbow that was forming with the sunlight and took a picture. As I also like to take black and white pictures of falling water, I tried one of the fountain here, but also caught the romantic couple in front of it.
I enhanced contrast and cropped the picture to delete a trash can that was on the left side. This may have shifted the image of the fountain to the left. Should I crop the picture a little on the right, too?
This is the first time I manage to get a frame around the picture. Do you think it would have looked better in white?

Hi Yyvonne,
You used black and white and there's no trace of the rainbow you're talking of. But the mist around the fountain is excellent. It gives the picture a different touch. When it comes to the frame, definitely it shouldn't be white. It would riun the whole image.
Cheers!

Yvonne I love the setting of this scene. The two on the bench make the scene so inviting too. A perfect choice for black and white. I did a workshop for you to bring out a litle more tonal contrast to the center of the photo. Not sure if you like it but have a look anyways. Thanks for sharing. ~Paul~

Hi
I like the frame. Sometimes it helps to enhance the picture to make the bottom part of the frame twice as large but keeping the top, left and right margins the same.
The composition is good and the pic has an overall good contrast!

Hi Yvonne,
This is very well composed pic! I like the misty effect upon the fountain and the way the two figures relax on the bench. B&W is a good choice, and a blackframe is good for this (IMO, great for B&W) and I personally like black better. I think it doesn't really matter if the fountains bit left - as the main subject's the two persons, not the fountain.
TFS.
Hv a nice day.

Hi Yvonne,
Very relaxed feeling here. I like the couple. And it's great to find these kind of peaceful corners in bigger cities.
Well, I usually use black frame. I think it works here too.

I like this picture a lot. It is a relaxing picture. I think the black border is definitely the correct choice rather than white. I like where you have the fountain placed, I don't think you need to center it.

hi yvonne,
this is a fantastic shot! i love the way the pair is framed between the lamp post and the tree. very nice choice in going with black and white. i think the black frame is excellent as well - much better than white in my opinion. it really aids in bringing out the pair on the bench.
cheers,
tootsie
