Photographer’s Note
Takamatsu Castle, also known as Tamamo Castle, was built in 1590 during the feudal times. Tamamo Castle is one of the rare sea castles in Japan. With 80,000 square meters in area, the current Tamamo castle is now only small portion of size of the original Tamamo castle.
The castle was well surrounded by ocean water. The building in this picture hidden in the trees is a three stories watch tower. The castle is next to Takamatsu port.
Takamatsu is a city in Shikoku. Shikoku is an island on the eastern side of Japan main island, not far away from Osaka. The land with mountains in distance away is Japan main island. In ancient time, this island consists of four separated "countries", which is the origination of the current name for the island.
It was early in the morning when this picture was taken.

Wes
You have caught the shot early in the morning to reveal great detail from the brickwork. The reflections in the water are nice and smooth and the foliage is beautifully captured. Nice shot.

Nice clear shot with good light conditions. A bit odd composition with the wall pointing out in the centre and no other obvious main element found in the picture. Odd but quite effective.
Thanks,
Magnus

Hi Wes, there's a great light in this picture from the low sun. The colours are very rich. I love the detail in the wall and the reflection in the water.

Hi Wes. Wow this sure turned out great. Nice light and reflections along the wall. I see some building peeking through the trees. I hope we get to see some more from this place. Good shot Mr. Wes!

Wes I love the reflection of the edge wall in the water. With the trees the place is so well hidden giving privacy to those inside. Must be built well if its looking like this after so many many centuries. With the low light angle this scene has a wonderful appeal to it Wes. I love this scenery Wes.

Hello Wes
Nice presentation under this beautiful early light.
I guess it is the prelimanery presentation of the area before seeing the castle in your next picture.
Good work

Hola Wes.
Nice shot with very good reflection, the lighting and colors are very well taken and the composition is great. Good POV. I imagine that you took this picture from a high position but we don't know from where.
As always you got good sharpness with good details.
Well done.

It is interesting to read your note. Maybe easier to read than a guide book? haha. very Japanese view. I cannot really say what makes the difference between Japan and other country view, but there is something that makes Japanese view I think. I found another view of this country again. thanks for sharing.

Hi WES,
The light and moment is very well captured and with a excelent perspective and composition enquadrement. Fantastic diagonal perspective view with a great contrast, stauration and quality result. Detailed and very well done in a morning difficult shot handling view,
Congratulations and have a nice weekend my friend and great one at TE.

Hello Wes, very nice composition. The time was perfect for taking the shot. There is a lot of luminance in the picture. The sky looks superb and contrast with the dark waters. I like the texture of the stone walls glowing by the sun light We can see a roof, I guess that must be the castle. Lovely shot, Greetings, Gabriel

Bonsoir mon ami Wes,
Des trésors cachés parmi une végétation luxuriante, aux arbres qui prennent des formes aussi étonnantes que les édifices du Japon.
Des couleurs superbes, une netteté saisissante. Une composition très réussie.
Amitiés.

I seemed to have missed quite a few of your recents. This caught my eye from the thumb, but the large picture is really great with the tantalising glimpses of the distance in the gaps and corners.

Hi Wes,
I especially agree with Aubry's excellent critique, "You have caught the shot early in the morning to reveal great detail from the brickwork. The reflections in the water are nice and smooth and the foliage is beautifully captured."
