Photographer’s Note
This was taken behind my parents house on Christmas Day. My family somewhat surpasses the large all-day-long holiday feasts and, instead, we go skiing behind our house before returning home for the meal. It was a gorgeous sunny day and I liked the light hitting this aspen stand. On a side note, aspens all grow from the same root system. There's one main root line and all the trees spring up from that line. That's why you see whole groups of aspens in the middle of some evergreens instead of just one or two trees.

It's a good idea, but it fails to catch my eye. I think that it comes across a little bit flat because the trees seem to start at the same place. It might have been better to get a little bit closer and use one tree as a very near foreground piece to help create some depth.
Thanks!

Quakes are one of my favorite shots. The sunshinning through them sets the shot apart
great shot
