Photographer’s Note
Amidst the snow, in the dying sun, I chanced upon a colourful plant by Dow's Lake, defying the near monochrome season. When back home I looked at it, there was hardly any wintery feel I found in it. But believe me, I took this shot last week, here in Ottawa, covered by a blanket of snow.

Hi Sarolto, I just love these detail shots of yours, they are top quality and could very well be printed on poster size and hung into a modern design interior!
This plant has much more of an exotic feel to it rather than having its roots in Ottawa's frozen soil! I have never seen any plant like it, but the red is very eye catching and attractive, the form of its leaves is eccentric and I love how the leaves are nestled around the branches; it gives a very affectionate feel to it. A super work! Sabine

Hi Sarolta. I like this pic. Very nice macro shot. Good is here focus and colours. I think this type of picture is hard to do. Though that this is well done. Regards, Michael from Poland.

Hello Sarolta;
I like a lot your close up picture as "winter berries" or "and Yet" this is some fabulous shot to me. Congratulation ( a little bit late ) for the 200th post and let me wish you a happy new year

"Not everything dies...", and even in the midst of the cold Canadian winter you can find something that has resisted death..well, it seems so anyway when i look at this beautful red (my colour lately:-)), for the leaves do seem to be waiting for resurrection.wonderful image, a little more pleasure in life to look at it.
best regards

Hi Sasa. No snow boobies today? Well, this is very nice, very artistic... the colors of the stocks and the curve of the leaves are great. excellent DoF as well. nice job.

Lovely pic, particularly like the depth of field. Have you ever thought to join TrekLens also?

Hi Sarolta,
Beautiful image. I think that You have a special easiness in taking picture such as this. I mean, amazing, romantic, unusual, original... Everytime when I see Your pictures I'm enchanted, if I say so. If You don't mind I will add Your nickname to my favourite. Thanks and best regards. maki

Hi Sasa,
good work again to make a pure graphical shot with very few things.
The short DOF and the colors are excellent.
I like very much
Well done

Hi Sasa.
J'adore ces teintes rougeatres et ce superbe bokeh...puis cette touche de beige avec ces feuilles.
Cadrage bien vu.
une image assez simple qui donne un beau résultat et plein de douceur.
bien vu

Hello Sarolta,
That's an unusual climbing plant; that red stem's also very unusual. And you've captured them in great detail, even the reddish vessels of that leaf is really clear. The yellowish colour of the leaves suggests that it has already died but still clings onto its 'partner'. Really exotic pic.
Cheers,

Beautiful shot Sasa - it is amazing what colour can be found sometimes in winter - such a good use of depth of field in the foreground and a nice bokeh too - the textures are really nice and the light coming through - very nice!

Hi Sarolta.
Nice close-up and composition. Technically a good photo.
But more than technically good: has something nice, something beatiful.
Thanks for share.

Excellent theme, Sasa, beautifully captured: I've got a photo somewhat like it with part of a praked car showing against the weeds by a frozen lake, but I don't think I'll post it - it's too far away from what I do...:o)
Lovely selective focus and framing - I like how you use that 18-70mm as a macro lens half the time - it produces very decent bokeh I must say.
Best,
Francis

Hi Sasa, when you stop taking photos, that's when I might stop believing...
Actually, it's snowing here (up in the mountains, I mean; down below's just tons of water) quite a bit, so my faith in winter grows exponentially.
keep your aperture open

Good title to accompany this splendid piece of artwork. The warm light and colours and above all the bokeh - speak to me here.

beautiful image Sarolta, i love that deep red color all over the frame, beautiful colorful bokeh as well. the compo is nice, a bit too tight though for me - not sure whether it was possible, but some space around the upper and the bottom leaves would be good. very nice image

Hi Sarolta,
the lines of this plant are very attractive and how it's wrapped around the red branches before dying (may represent a one way love?) very well composed and lovely DOF.
Cheers,
