Photographer’s Note
Halmstad is known for it's beautifull beaches. This is a sight never seen in any tourist information. But still, it's part of the city.

I love strong B&W images like this - really good work on the contrast and bringing the sky out so fully - a nice composition - and tonal work.
best wishes kev

Tough lowkey on the silos in Halmstad Britt, quite an impact. Feel a little bit of a tilt though and that makes it a little bit less than perfect.

The B&W goes very well with this industrial complex and the sky is amazing. We could tink that there was an explosion.
Cheers!

Hi Britt,
It's an excellent photo. I first thought it was a huge cloud of smoke. Perfectly shown!
Cheers!

Britt,
Really beautiful, definitely better than a typical beach. Beaches have been photographed into triteness; this has majesty.
How is an industrial complex (quite possibly a polluting one) beautiful? Thomas deQuincey, in "Murder, Considered as One of the Fine Arts" used satire to make the point that morally terrible things -- fires, earthquakes, and even murder -- can be judged beautiful if one can set aside the moral element and view them purely aesthetically.
In that sense I'd say this is very beautiful. Beaches don't normally have this kind of awe.

Amazing shot. The clouds are so dramatic through the different shades of black&white, and you've caught the industrial feel through the darker buildings perfectly.

Strong, dangerous sky and awful buildings. Very impressive. Good work.

Magnus
