Photographer’s Note
Cahirciveen is on the Ring of Kerry (Iveragh Peninsula), a tourist hotspot that I travelled to just before the tourist season really started. It is known as the birthplace of Daniel O'Connell, "The Liberator", who achieved the passing of pro-Catholic and pro-Irish laws in the British Parliament.
On a beautiful afternoon, I walked to the fort through lanes bordered with stone walls and the giant fuschia bushes--trees really--that are the trademark flower of southwest Ireland. Cahergall ring fort's outer defensive wall is lined with steps and terraces, some of them original, some modern reconstructions. The ancient fort, situated on a hill about 2 miles from the town, would have housed one family and protected their livestock from local theives. It is a Duchas (heritage) site and, like most in Ireland, is located in pastureland--I had the place to myself, besides the cows!

Hallo Whitney!
I like your interesting photo very much and I like especially the contrast in the colours. The pattern of the stones is incredible just as the effort to construct this walls!
Thank you for showing - and Welcome to TE!
Greetings from Germany!

J'aime beaucoup la trichromie. On dirait un diagramme de stats.
I like that. Alot. The three colours organized like a statistic's graphic.

I ate my lunch on this ring fort ages ago, and took some pictures of the rocks also. I like the composition, the rocks from the side. Thanks for the memory! Sherri

Hi Whitney!
I'm very keen on old places like this one. Your converging curved compo is remarkable. Some despecling of the sky (upper left cotner) should not be concidered as TE Terms violation...
Best regards!

I like your POV. Good contrast between green gras, gray wall and light blue of the sky.
Best regards,

Hello Whitney! Very nice capture here, the repeating pattern on the stone steps is very intriguing. I stopped here myself when I visited Ireland and had trouble coming up with a composition. You did quite well!
