A portrait of the water delivery person with his truck in the background. Some parts of Karachi have not had water through their mains for the past 25 years and water delivered by tanker trucks a few times a week is the norm. Water delivery of this kind has grown to be big business.
Notice the head gear, which is fairly common in Pakistan and the gentlemens red teeth. While I can`t be sure he hasn`t caught a deadly disease and is spitting blood this is more likely caused by the chewing of 'pan' - essentially beetle nuts, some kinds of sauces - a red one is always present which colors the chewers mouth, some condiments depending on taste, all rolled up in a beetle leaf and chewed.
