Photographer’s Note
Saltpans of Secovlje used to be the largest saltpans in north Adriatic sea. The biggest part of saltpans are now abandoned and are a nature preserve for the rare waterfowls. Light wind and scent of the Mediterranean, fascinate the visitors in every season of the year. In the 'Museum of saltpans', precious informations are available about the history of salt production. Tourist development of this area was begun from the saltpans. In 19th century, the wholesomeness of the mud from saltpans was discovered and tourism was started. Today, the mud from this saltpans, is one of the main touristic offers of Portorose, the biggest summer resort in whole Slovenia.

A most interesting shot with the different bassins of saltpans. The details adds up to a fine total. Again a very interesting note Max.
(I have only seen saltpans in West France, but I think they was made in a little differnt way)

Very good shot, and a very interesting note, Max. Your composition is - in an attractive way - very geometric, with the horizontal lines, and on the other hand with the huts and salt heaps going diagonally through the frame. Those two wagons on the tracks are nice attention-grabbers, too. Well done!

Vos photos possèdent en majorité une dominante jaune/cyan, j'avais corrigé la précédente.
Cependant cette photo est de très bonne composition.
Your photographs have in majority yellow/cyan dominants, I had corrected the preceding one. However this photograph has very good composition.

Very interesting picture, thank you for the note. This is a good example of a picture that certainly has abstract values but at the same time tells a story.
It'll probably not be long before someone makes a WS cropping away all the interesting parts like buildings and wagons :). The soft light you got is wonderful, the rust and reflected sky interact well.

This was really well-seen and framed! The lines (diagonals, horizontals) are really noticible. I like how the carts break them up.

I like this picture a lot, Max. The pattern of the baisins are fine and the line of sheds add a depth. Just for fun I posted a WS with an abstract version.

Great composition. Everything is repeated in a rhythmic way, the saltpans, the carts, the sheds, the heaps of salt, the lightposts and it is well framed. Very good.

La réflexion est tellement belle et parfaite qu'entre les parties de récolte il semble y avoir le vide.
La profondeur de l'image est bonne et la charrette trouve la place maîtresse de la photo

A good perspective shot, with excellent repetitive patterns. The old rail trucks really add to the shot. The colours and clarity in the foreground are very beautiful. Good note.

Excellent, Max. Very good composition with many shapes - the pans, the wooden huts, the pylons. Very good position of that nice carriage, and excellent colors. Well done.

This is a very interesting subject Max, something I have never seen before. Your notes explain very well the photograph. I have seen salt as a by-product of water de-salination at Curacao, and I presume they used the salt commercially as well as benefitting from the fresh water. The shapes and lines in the photo make an interesting composition. Do you know why there are so many little huts and not one larger building? What is their purpose?

Excelent perspective with fantastic colors and details.
I don't know if it's very ethical but it would be nice if those lamps were cloned out.
Good note also.

I have a lot to catch up - If it wasn't for the reflections would it be hard to reconize the water. I like the lines and colors in your capture - very well seen.

this is very nice, very "geometrical" picture, plenty of lines and shapes, very interesting composition of the whole scene, the cart is "placed" really well, it is a definitely very original picture, very nice!

Hello,
here you successfully applied the repetiton of rails and dams to give an impression of infinity and great depth. Aligned sheds and lamp-posts accentuate this view. Also the colours and sharpness are very good.
Vse skupaj, odlicna slika.
Lep pozdrav Kristof

Res lepa fotka. Čistina odseva, ki bi lahko delovala izumetničeno ali umetno, nasprotno deluje magično. Fini detajli kljub velikosti slike.
Pozdrav,
JD
