Palace in the Sky

I took this photo at Hearst Castle in Central California this past summer. I expected it to be a rather boring excursion, however, I was pleasantly surprised. The castle is situated on a mountain overlooking the pacific ocean, and the views are really spectacular. I just wish I had had more time to take photos, as we kept being rushed by the tour group to move around.
I did attempt to remove a a big piece of dust from the photo in photoshop- I hope it is not too noticeable. It is unfortunate that most of my photos from California have black specks all over them because dust somehow got on my sensor. Very devastating to travel thousands of miles to take nice pictures and realize that! So please I encourage all of you, especially if someone else was using your camera right before you take it on travels- check your camera carefully to avoid a very sad face :(. By the way, does anyone know if it is possible to clean the sensor on your own? I use a sony cybershot. I heard it was risky to do it yourself, but it is also a lot cheaper! Thank you for reading my terribly long post. :) |

This reminds me of a book I read once. Nice angle to include floor and ceiling, and I like the way the reflection of the blue sky shines in the stars on the floor. Next time, you must go alone and leave the tour group! ;o)
