Photographer’s Note

loads of them in Ethiopia. Young girls, working in various bars, serving you beer, food, maybe something else. This is a bar on the crossroads that sees many various customers - 4x4 drivers, tourists, half naked tribal guests from Hamar or Karo tribes etc. They serve usually tibs with injera ( some grilled meat ) or spaghetti, but have excellent spiced tea.
Experiments with 6x6 format camera.

Again a wonderful portrait with good light. The face of the girl is good, is saying something to us. And I think that is the better of the photo.

Jeez, a Pentacon 6tl... you must be dragging a heavy bag with you. Well, the square format looks good, a good focus... it looks like you had a battle with that light... but you came out ok.

THis is real experiment! I am surprised how short the DOF is despite the abundance of light. Must have used very large apperture (sloooow film!). Yet the detail is extraordinary in the foreground while being so soft simultaneously.

THanks for the note. Worth remembering these parts of the world at this time of the year.
