Photographer’s Note
The Maheno was a passenger vessel built in 1905. The ship was used for a intercolonial service between Australia and New Zealand. It was also used as a hospital ship in World War I.
Declared unseaworthy in 1935. Sold to a Japanese company for scrap metal.
8th of July 1935 Maheno caught in an unseasonal winter cyclone while it was towed to Japan. 9th July Maheno grounded on Fraser Island.
Royal Australian Air Force used the Maheno as target practice in World War II.
Today only the upper decks are still visible.

Hi Michael
With your framing and title, are you sure you didn't scan a postcard here ;-)
In anycase the colours and contrasts are pretty amazing. Nice low down POV and reflection on the sand.

Hello Michael ,
really dramatic and eye catching image.
I have seen other images of this ship but
You did a very good composition, cropping and framing too.
I would have removed the pole with the sign on the right too.
Well done and tfs,
regards,
Alberto.
