Your framing is good Dave, but I feel you could have done justice to your title more if you had included in the background something that was 'post-tsunami' because otherwise this could have been taken anywhere. This would have required you to use a deeper DOF (there was enough light to enable this) so that the background was soft but not as out-of-focus as in your composition above. Cheers . . . David

Hey Dave, I mostly agree with banyanman, but it all depends on you objective.
I once read that one can determine the difference between an armature and a pro by looking at the background.
If your objective was to capture, purely, a face then you have done well, whereas, if your objective was to make a photo that would lure the viewer into the life of the subject by the state of their condition, then you have not done so well.
I have been trying to better improve on this as well.
Nonetheless, there is nothing wrong with this photo tech wise.
