Photographer’s Note

This is a view of the rock formation known as "The old man of Storr", in the Trotternish peninsula of the Isle of Skye (Scotland), just north of Portree. It is a very scenic (and much photographed) place, which can be reached climbing a rather easy path. This is a quite unusual view, as it was taken from below, just out of the path. The sky was quite interesting, and the picture came out weird, but, I think, effective.

It is a scan of a printed picture, and this is why there is some noise in the photo. The other problem is the vignetting, evident at the focal length I used, but I think it actually adds something to the picture.

Unfortunately the view doesn't let you see the amazing place that hosts the "old man".
