[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I went to Saas-Fee Switzerland last month for a business meeting. Lying in the next-door valley to Zermatt, SAAS-FEE is often overlooked, mostly because it doesn’t have any train access. Oozing out from between the mountains is the giant Feegletscher – or Fairy Glacier. This was the attraction for the meeting since it is early in the season we need a year round glacier to afford us the opportunity to ski/snowboard with the customers. Saas-Fee is a car free village so I enjoyed walking through the village and taking a few photos between setting up and waiting for the customers to arrive. The village is perched on a shelf of pasture at the base of a horseshoe of thirteen 4000m-plus peaks. It takes two gondola rides, one on a train through a long tunnel, and a tow by the t-bar to reach the first ski-able run. The view from the top was awesome though!

nice compo. gives idea of horseshoe location.

Hi Julie,
You have found a corner of this village that pretty original, even though it nowadays is mostly a tourist resort. I guess the village centre is to the left by that road? Nice fall colours and those rowan berries.

I also appreciate the "car free" village. This is a nice picture of the place. I appreciate your comments.

Hi Julie,

What a great shot, Switzerland is probably my favorite country and this photo says it all. I feel this really captures the feeling of the town, the mood and culture. Great POV, well done!

Alex

Wow! Looks like a wonderful place to hike too! Too bad I couldn't go with you. This photo is so beautiful, the mountains look very majestic and grand. I love the tree framing the shot at the top. Well done.

A magical image Julie, it does indeed set the mood, I can almost feel a mountain chill in the air from just looking at this image. I like the vapour trail in the sky over the mountains too. Good DOF and sharpness.

Best wishes

Vernon
