Photographer’s Note

Further yesterday's photo, today I propose you another shot from my archives. This shot was taken twenty minutes later.

We are following the coastline on Highway 138, The is the view we had as we were going downhill approaching the village of Cap à l'Aigle.
You can note ice started to build up on the river giving this strange reflection and texture.

Original shot uncropped. Just adjusted luminosity and filtered with Neat Image.

Good PoV and light, waiting for the two cars coming up the hill was worth while, and adds some interesting detail to the compo, having two like that was pretty lucky.

Hello Robert,
I now feel habitual with your shot's sharpness and excellent details.
Your this shot is tremendous and contains many things in a single image.
1. Clouds are looking good
2. Snow/water area is nice and the boat also.
3. Cars headlight is captured very well.

Excellent composition with the headlights of the 2 cars and the yellow of the sign standing out in the foreground and the stunning sky with it's dramatic clouds and colours in the background. The thrid car and boat add depth.

Salut Robert!
Wow! Tu as dû te sentir obligé d'arrêter pour prendre une photo avec un tel ciel et ces reflets rougeoyants sur le fleuve. J'aime cette heure de l'après-midi quand la lumière se retire tranquillement et que la noirceur s'infiltre lentement mais sûrement. D'ailleurs, ton Pro 1 gère très bien les basses lumières, à 1/80 de seconde, c'est surprenant. J'aime ton point de vue ici, en plongée, avec ces automobiles aux phares allumés. Bonne netteté de l'image. Pour les couleurs, as-tu poussé la saturation un peu ou elles étaient comme ça? J'aime bien aussi le bateau (traversier?) sur le fleuve. Merci Robert!

Beautifully captured colours. Kind of a shame about the highway, takes away from the scene a bit.

Great sunset mood, I love the red-golden reflections on the water, broken up by the ice. Sharpening is IMO a bit on the hard side, e.g. at the top of the mountains.

Bonjour Robert,
Encore une magnifique image. J'aime beaucoup le contraste entre l'avant plan, sombre et froid et la mer et le ciel qui semblent littéralement s'embraser! Tu ne pouvais vraiment pas faire autrement que de t'arrêter pour immortaliser ce moment. Il y a aussi quelques petits détails qui font le charme de cette photo: le panneau routier jaune, les phares des voitures et les lumières du bateau dans la baie.

Nope, this looks like a view over lake Siljan from Söderås above the little town Rättvik. We are looking down along highway 80(?) from Falun just some 60 km from here. The traffic sign looks unfamiliar though...

Anyway you made a nice landscape picture here. The road leads us in and through the picture and the cars stand for human presence. great light in the back and on the water that contrasts nicely with the cold blue dusk in the foreground.

Très belle image, un cadrage que j'aime beaucoup et aux quel les voiture ajoutent une touche particulière notamment celle de droite qui nous permet de reconnaître au premier coup d'oeil l'Amérique. Très belle lumière également

Wow! I wasn't ready for such an impact when opening the thumbnail, Robert. It's an amazing shot mediating that kind of chill, that only an early northern sunset can mediate - despite the warm colors. The bands of red interrupted by the various shades of blue are breathtaking. The road/traffic add to the feeling that this is a view suddenly evolving in front of our eyes. (Ebbe isn't that off-track with his impression of highway 80, approaching Siljan - I know the place) So your POV is very well chosen and the moment is right, creating a great composition. But this is bigger - much bigger. Very well done!

Wow.
This is an exceptional view, the sky reflecting on the sea with its wonderful colors, the shades of blue, orange and yellow together and the mountain in the background adds a real beauty to the photo.

Bonjour Robert,
Superbe point de vue et beau travail de mise au point. Les couleurs de ce ciel sont extraordinaires. La rivière est en partie gelée, mais laisse entre-apercevoir de jolies reflets dans ses parties non gelées.

Real good night colours.
