Photographer’s Note
In East Morocco, the Sahara Desert presents the Erg Chebbi, a region of impressive sand dunes, sculpted into amazing forms by the desert wind.
The dune in the background of this pictures is 600 ft high and some quarter or a mile from the camera. The dune in the foreground is some 100m away. I took the picture at midday.

I love the combination of colours they look very complementary. It looks as it is from a different world and unreal :) Well done.

There is always something quite magical about pictures of sand dunes. Though the basic material - a grain of sand - is the same, there seems to be any number of permutations and combinations that can be whipped up in the way of structures to be captured on film. Instantly recognisable, but also infinitely different.
I like the way that you have captured the perspective here. Without the note though I would never have appreciated the immense scales involved. Though the picture is very strong (and perfect) as it has been shot, if you did want to relate the scale in picture, then some reference (people, camels, etc..) may have added an extra dimension - though could be considered hackneyed.

Great and impressive dual-colored image. I just see that there's a bit of noise in the image, maybe to have scanned the original slide. Regards.

Great shot. very simple composition but very powerfull colorsetting. A lust for the eye. Indeed there is just a little bit noise in the sky, but it's not of the anoying kind :)
Anyway, I wanted to try and correct it with neatimage and see how that would turn out. See workshop. Anyway, great job!

Hi Lee,
So simple and powerful composition. An outstanding contrast between the yellow sand and the very blue sky. Clear lines. Very clean photo.
Well done
