Photographer’s Note
I arrived in KL (Kuala Lumpur), on 1st August 1990, the same day that Sadam Hussein of Iraq, invaded Kuwait. I like the view of the city from the steps of the Islamic Centre, which is open to the general public. The minaret in the background is part of the National Mosque of Malaysia.

Interesting to see this 15 year old view. The buildings in the background look quite famaliar, its jsut that now there are more of them. Good PoV, and inclusion of the family group. Also good idea to remember current events, I must add a line to my posting today.

Hi Chris, KL view before the skyscraper-fever!
few towers (the one in the middle, the Kompleks Dayabumi, is one of my favorite skyscraper of the whole world) on the horizon!
good light and excellent POV.
in that same day, the first of Agusut 1990 i was at 150 km from the Iraq border in the Eastern Anatolyia.
we were "invited" from the Turkish Army to went away on the coast!
thanks, ciao

Selamat Petang Chris,
Despite the cloudy weather an attractive view that shows well the modern islamic architecture to be found in Malaysia, a country that combines very well high tech and religious believing as we can also well see from the people included in the frame.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Bonjour Chris,

Some how looks like a theme park. Interesting umbrellas on the sides. I like the soft colors and a excellent definition. The perspective is very nice, because it has deep. And show us an open space with nice garden and the city skyline on the back. Very well done, even time has past by. Cheers, Gabriel.

Nice timing for your visit! This must have inspired your trip to the national mosque. I like this shot, which gives a feel of the large and modern aspect of the newer parts of the city. It's good that you included the people, who give this a sense of scale. Well done!

Interesting framing for this diverse ensemble of architectural elements, Chris. Good point of view resulting in a comprehensive view, and the group of visitors is a very nice inclusion. It seems that the blue channel is a bit dominant but I may be wrong. Nice photo.

Hi Chris. I guess that sort of event can help you remember the date better than you normally would. What I like here are the people and all of the white architecture which is normally somewhat rare, at least in my part of the world. Nice one Chris.

Hi Chris,
I can tell that you miss this place, and so do I. The last time I visited this part of KL was around 8years ago. And you are right, thats the date when Saddam lost his stupid mind once again and put my country into another war. Very well taken from this POV! Well done!
Regards, Ramy.
