840 m altitude - One of those few places left in the EU agricultural world ... where you hear only the natural sounds.
Behind me, in winter the waters of a creek flow - one of those few places left in the EU agricultural world ... where the basin is still not contaminated by the agrochemical industry.
Where the descendents of the giants burnt too early to leave seeds. (Guarda, other district in Portugal, but still the same area).
The trees are some of the tallest portuguese oaks (cerquinho, Quercus faginea). One of the few trees that can survive hell. The only survivors of August 1, 2003.
As far as the quiz (see my profile), this has to be the most difficult photo so far. I doubt that more than 50 of the 10 million portuguese has ever been here... |
