Photographer’s Note
That image was took from a big boat during a tour of the islands few miles in front of Nha Trang.
The Tour was organized by the Mama Han's Boat Trip, not a classical daily cruise, but something similar to a Monty Pyton's movie.
The old giant wooden boat have 2 flags: the red with yellow star of Vietnam, and the one of Jamaica with Bob's face.
Reagge music was played from a giant ghetto blaster for all the time of the boat trip (10 hours).
We payed few dollar for an all inclusive cruise:
free beers
free rice whiskey
free Martini
free food
free ganja
We bought the tickets the day before on the beach of Nha Trang. The seller asked us: "do you want a boat tour for old people or for young one?"
...
we didn't understand really the difference and the guy told us: "take the young boat tour...it's funny!"
we didn't understand at the moment...
On the boat there were more or less 50 tourists, after 2 hours there were 50 rastafaris....
it was really funny!

Like Swimming
First I learned to crawl and then some other strokes
I can never remember any real good jokes
Do you feel like swimming
Yes right now
I know a way to swim all the way downtown
I know a way to swim all the way downtown
It's a lot like swimming the first time over your head
It gets easier when you move your arms and legs
And for air you lift your head why don't we try it right now
Yes right now
Yes right now
Well I know a way to swim all the way downtown
I know a way to swim all the way downtown
Well I know a way to swim all the way downtown
I know a way to swim all the way downtown
We'll go by way of the garden
Fat with tomatoes and beans on the vine
Sweet like the way it was
Like swimming for the very first time
Do you feel like swimming
Well I know a way to swim all the way downtown
I know a way to swim all the way downtown
Do you feel like swimming
Do you feel like swimming

ciao paolo, and this image would be probably so-so without the note: now everything is clear, particularly that jamaica thing in the title;
and now i know what the image conveys, and it does so so nicely;
very good work;
best wishes, jerzy

Would love to see the boat, and maybe you could think up a quote for my Monty Python theme. Interesting almost graphic result here, looks something like a David Hockney water colour.

ça me rappelle notre tour des îles, la musique à fond, on saute dans l'eau, et il y a open bar dans l'eau !
une belle journée, l'eau était si claire...
l'atmosphere est bien rendue par ta photo qui nous donne envie de revenir en été.

I actually like the photo on its own, even without the note. It has a wonderful sort of minimalism to it as the water fills the frame totally with nothing but 4 swimmers inside it. The moment is nice, although maybe if one of the boys looked up into the camera it could be even better.

Hello Paolo,
Its not fair to post these kind of images considering the cold wave we are going through, do you realise that some of us ride bikes to work Half hour each day with horrible cold?
ANyways, great location of the kids an da very nice colour captured for the water.

Très bonne prise, j'adore ce cadrage et ce pov, on dirait que tu es perché dans les airs.
Le bleu-vert de l'eau est magnifique.

Sounds like a good day out. We must have had the old person's trip when we went as they included a masseur and a manicurist.
It seems like fun was had in the sea too. well captured image from the boat.

Whenever I see a large body of water on a picture these days, you come to my mind... you and the turquoise waters that you capture, Paolo... so inviting! I would love to jump, right now...:-)
Wonderful composition, with the children jumping here and enjoying this irresistible water... superb colours too.
Brava, mi amice.

Ola Paolo
I like this photo for the excellent mood that you have captured ... Happy kids and water ... excellent settings
I especially like the way sun is shining on some the kids and you composition is very good.
I was curious about what was kid at bottom holding on to (the boat?)
but I like the tease in this photo too
nice work .... tfs ... cheers ... Sarju
PS: I have noticed that you scan your photos from F80 camera ... now I have even greater admiration for not only very good scans but also the fact that with the film roll photography one has to be very picky with what to shoot and one does not take dozens of shot of the single scene.
BTW ... very good note ... I will ask you about the boat if I ever go to Vietnam

Ciao Paolo,
mi piacciono la composizione e la nitidezza di questa foto. La cornice scura aiuta a concentrare l'attenzione sull'immagine e l'espressione dei bambini fa la differenza. Quante piccole gioie vissute con nulla!
Buon week end.
