Photographer’s Note

Autumn in Beijing is a golden season,
so nice, so short.
walking along the street,
thinking about something for happy
you would feel spring in the air
but suddenly i found this scene,
and then I thought I was in somewhere i didn't know.

the light is so weak,
I wish a car would pass by,
but none.
i couldn't wait,
i afraid a scamp would suddenly come out from the darkness.

Hi there. I really like this picture. At lest I do not feel alone at TE who came here with homeles people.
I really thing that it is aserious problem. Chck out my pictures and tell me what you thing aboiut it. It is the last one
Anyway. The color are very nice. Maybge the focuse is not as good.

Superior composition, Mingfang, really a very fine pic, moody,sad, profound. I thught the productin values were a little bit weak (cntrast, sharpening etc. ) maybe from the scanning process, so I tried a workshop (hope you like it...it's not a dramatic change).

Hello Mingfang,
a beautiful composition, capture again... you make China so intimate for me, as if i had been there before. Your humanity pervades all these lovely shots, and your sensibility is reflected in them. In this one, it is wonderful how you "framed" the poor woman with the heavy, slightly tilted pole and its shadow... a very poignant statement. And so beautifully seen.

Hi Mingfang. Wow, very good shot. the scene is so raw, so pure in it's humanity... a darker side of humanity, a sad side, the side that the comfortable and stable a little worried and nervious... maybe because we all know that it is not so hard to become like this... well... even without the car passing by, the light is very good for this scene and mood. great work.

Hi Mingfang. Technically this has some failings, as others have mentioned above, but it is a superb piece of photojournalism showing us a side of Beijing that the tourists rarely see, and highlighting the problem of homeless people that is becoming an increasing problem in the eastern cities of China as people move in from the provinces in search of work. I hope you will not get into trouble from the authorities for posting photographs like this! Cheers . . . David
