Photographer’s Note

Hello all TE friends!
It's not winter in this picture! It was taken in the middle of the summer. It's one of the strangest places I've ever seen. Located in New Mexico - White Sands - is an area where sand dunes are so white that you feel you were in a remote place in the Alpes and not in the hot American interior. It attracted some music bands (among others Simple Minds) and they shot a couple of videos there.
We went there on a typical hot summer day. I like the contrast between the sky and the sand. It looked gorgeous there!

Hello Kris!!Good photo! It is truth, the sand is so white that it seems snow. The blue one of the very intense sky. Well fact!

Hi Kris,
Nice shot.
Colours are wonderfull !
I like the composition sand/sky 1/3-2/3.
The choice of "the crossroad", decentered makes it strong.
I like the color of the vegetation.
May be the sky would have been a little stronger with one or to birds ;-)
Reminder: put one of two dove in my photo bag.;-)

Bardzo ładne zdjęcie, rzeczywiście pisaek ten wygląda jak śnieg ! Bardzo dobra kompozycja, jest duzy kontrast pomiedzy piaskiem a przepieknym niebem. Bardzo ladnie udalo Ci sie to wychwycic.

Hi! Kris,

This is a little know location in my book, and a possible destination for a trip I'm taking next year. I would like to know if the name of it is White Sands. Would it have been possible to get more of the yellow grasses in a foreground closeup shot and contrast that against the blue sky or were the grasses only in the troughs(hollows) of the dunes? You still got a very impressive shot here. I concur with Akim about the animated skies, by uping the anti on the bird idea and bringing along a couple of Vultures to keep the doves company;))
