Rose Festival Photo

Photographer’s Note

The picture was taken during 2004 Rose festival in village Rozovo, next to Kazanlak in the Valley of Roses. Kids were so trully proud and happy showing us the ancient rituals of collecting the roses' blossoms and distilling a rose brandy out of it. The athmosphere was unbelievable - the smell of roses in the air, the traditional folk music and "kukeri" dances... must feel it

Hi Ben,
I kept hearing about the roses of Bulgaria. Note goes well with these floating petals, quite successful visually: "the smell of roses in the air"...

It is a workmanship. It's not only the colors, but the moment, too. Just great. I have not enogh words to express what I feel, when I watch this photograph. It has a very eep meaning and message, because the rose is one of the symbols of Bulgaria. BenKovski, thank for making us happy with this artwork.
