Walking into the desert Photo

Photographer’s Note

Walking up on the edge of a huge dune in the desert in Morocco during the sunset is an unique experience.
The colors turn to red, the shades are great, basicaly the whole landscape seems to perform a show to say 'farewell' to the hot sun shine and to welcome the quietness and the refreshment that the night brings.

It has been taken on the Chigaga dunes (near Mhaamid, the highest of Morocco) after a hard day hiking.

Something I like in this picture is that if all curves are pure and simple in the desert, here the footsteps are disturbing the shape of the dune and it is well highlighted by the shades of the sunset.

Une marche dans le soleil des dunes et ces pas qui sans doute ne resteront pas longtemps gravés... La lumière du soleil tombant sur le sable vaut tous les mots.

Very nice picture with a great contrast between the red of the dune in the shadow and in the sun.

A beautiful picture, Lergas! I also like the texture of the sand, the repetitive formation and the good contrast you acieved here between sun and shade! Good colors too!
