Photographer’s Note

A picture taken yesterday early in the morning at Ursel Knesselare a place that my is beloved.
A very lovely morning a little misty, the sun coming through the autumn leaves and making beautiful sun beams. Also the quietness was formidable for enjoying.
I return often with this forest, but it is very beautiful there.

This is a original image.

Goedemorgen John, wat een prachtige en mysterieuze herfst capture is dit. De zonneradialen snijden op een heerlijke manier door de mist en de plaatsing van de zon is zeer weldoordacht. De herfstkleuren en de spel der schaduwen maken dit geweldiige natuurwerk af. Zeer goed werk.
Een goede start van de week toegewenst vanuit een tamelijk helder Rotterdam bij 9 graden C.

Dit is een prachtige foto John.
Het tegen licht, het schijnsel van de zon, de kleuren de atmosfeer. Het is allemaal een heel perfect plaatje geworden. Het is er een om trots op te zijn. Even over U laatste nacht shot. Hij was mooi maar zoals zoveel is gezegd. Hij was niet compleet. De bovenzijde was jammer genoeg niet voldoende in beeld gebracht anders had ook dit een topper geworden. John goed werk. Ik ben blij weer terug te zijn.

Nice shot John;

Truly one of those magical moments that you stumble upon- luckily you had your camera with you to capture the moment.
I find myself having to lower myself in my chair to ensure that I am exactly eye level with the screen or the blacks tend to wash out a bit on my monitor. Looks really good though.

Wat een poëtische foto, moet niet gemakkelijk zijn met tegenlicht werken, de zonnestralen zijn hier bijna opgeschilderd. Debladeren hebben een speciale kleur on de grond.

i suppose one more wont do any harm..
you say this is original with no colour alterations?
and i suspect raw as well..
i am getting some good results with tiff but the mode is too slow to load and uses a lot of memory

I must confessed that after seeing this excellent picture of yours, I was going around parks in Singapore hoping to capture something like this. But of course in tropical country, the lights are very harsh and very difficult to find mist in the city and therefore no picture like this, ha ha!

Waouu. La lumière de cette forêt invite à la ballade. Les rayons du soleil à travers les arbres et la brume sont du plus bel effet. Les feuilles rouges et brunes au sol remplissent le bas de l'image d'une couleur très agréable et chaude.

Just magic! Love the graphical elements of radial rays of sunlight crossing the vertical lines of the trees. The combination of mist and light rays givs the image the feeling od depth.

Hello John, these are beautiful rays and the pools of light on the forest floor give wonderful patches of colour. There's enough detail to make the picture compelling to view and yet there's also enough mystery to make me wonder what I cannot see in the shadows.

I have seen this image so often I was pretty sure I had commented!
This is the scenery I'm looking out for every time I visit the forest, strong backlight filtered by the branches... no luck so far!
But this is very well done, in a wonderful composition where the light plays with elements of the forest!

on y trouve toutes les qualités celle de la très bonne composition du cliché tout d'abord,des couleurs bien en harmonies le tout dans une image parfaitement exposée la balance entre les hautes et les basses lumières est impeccable car il reste du détail dans les ombres ainsique dans les rayons lumineux, bravo

Hope you are well, what a stunning gallery, I could critique your images all day, however I will add you to my favs for future images of yours. I hope to get a capture like this one day as I live in forestlands out in NZ, this is superb with the mist playing well into the trees. You used your head here to get the direct sun behind one of the trees which is giving you fantastic colours in the ground and in trees while holding excellent highlight exposures. Perfect mood, very well done I can see why you amassed so many points for this. Superb gallery and work. Look forward to more of your images.

Hi, John,

I am fond of special lighting effects created by the sun interacting with suspended impurities in the sky. Here, you have achieved a masterful rendering of such an event. The light scattering by the thin remnants of fog produce indirect illumination. The sun shining through the forest canopy produces bands of light and shade. The combination is a magical scene.

In addition to these sun beams streaming through the tree cover, I especially like the color of the leaf litter. This remarkable tidiness to the fallen leaves I have also observed in Denmark. We don't see that in the US. I think the difference may be because that the Northern European autumn is more gentle in its temperature change than the onset of autumn in the eastern US.

Namaste John, it is a fantastic example how to handle light and shadow with a camera. I like myst, and here the sun rays through the myst create a romantic atmosphere. I can smell the myst in your photo. DOF is nice. Exposer is perfect. Composing is brilliant. TFS.
