Photographer’s Note

Taken somewhere between Access Point 3, Magnetawan Lake and Daisy Lake, it's hard to remember. There are handful of camp sites on these lake and they get booked up pretty early. That's why we had to stay at Casey Lake and backtrack the 1185km portage next morning.

In terms of pesky insects, late July is a fine time to visit Algonquin Park. With all the extra visitors enjoying their first summer long weekend in Ontario, there were hardly enough mosquitos to go around. (DEET laden bug spray is still recommended)

I was getting tired from paddling, so I fiddled with the camera, for a good 10 seconds, for this shot. Originally a landscape, it was cropped to accentuate the sky its reflection. Minor touchup with contrast and USM, added white border.
