Jokulsarlon panorama Photo

Photographer’s Note

I have try to make a panorama. The subject is the Jokulsarlon lake. This lake is situated on the end of the glacier. Part of the glacier are floating on the lake. This make the site very beautiful. The begining of a movie from the serie of Jame Bond has been made here (Dangereusement votre) I do not know the title in english sorry.
The picture is composed of 4 pictures taken on from the west part of this lake. As these pictures was not taken to be a panorama, I have some dificulties to mix them. The brightness was not the same, so I have to make some corrections. After more than one hour the result is what you see.... I have also expand the original panorama to 250 pixel in heigth to be loaded.

Il faut vraiment cliquer sur panorama pour voir un résultat correct et là je ne peux que saluer la qualité de la composition qui est superbe, Jacques...

Nice panorama! An impressive shot of the lagoon. You´ve found a good angle and you´ve done well in avoiding disturbing man-made constructions. Maybe the colors could be altered somewhat. I would try to enhance the blue colors and increase somewhat the saturation (just a personal preference). There seem to be some strange post-process phenomomena in the mountains in the background on the glacier (and on the beach). I guess there is an overlap from making the panorama, it looks almost like that section of the picture was taken from more to the east. As I wrote my thesis about this mountain (volcano) I looked closer on this part of the photo, otherwise I might not have noticed. /Fredrik

Grand impressive panorama Jaques, and you must have been very lucky by putting it together without planning for it originally.
Your ordinaire start picture (800px) is not clear. The way to do it would meaybe be to have added a frame insted of "blowing" it up (but of course without destroying te 2,5:1 ratio)
