Photographer’s Note

Denmark was very much shaped by the "recent" iceages that rolled over the country and created the hills and fjords and generally flat land. But this particular piece of chalk cliff (which is altogether 14 km long)south of Copenhagen is 65 million years old. It makes you feel appropriately small when you sit in your boat fishing for cod, not catching any, and deciding to take another picture of something that was there at the time of the dinosaurs.
The cliff is at this point only about 10 meters tall and at its highest point 14 meters.

Nice note! I'm amazed at how even these surfaces are, they look almost man made.

The lighted surfaces are a little overexposed but I like the tone of the afternoon (?) light, and you have nice natural greens. I get the impression that the whole picture is tilted by looking at the shoreline, but it might as well be a perspective thing - the trees seem to be straight.

Nice shot, nicely noted. The colors and contrast are great, especially were the trees meet the chalk. How high is this cliff ?

Per, maybe you wasn't lucky about not catching any fish, but so we are lucky to see it to, a very well structured small slice of Earth' history

Hej Per - flot syn og godt fanget med solen ind fra siden. Jeg har vist kun været ved Møns klint og aldrig til søs.
Ok træerne er måske lidt mørke; men efter en lille workshop, må jeg erkende at skyggevirkningen og de sorte striber let forvinder. Konklusion - flot billede.

Dette billede stod blandt dine 'random pictures', så jeg så det først i dag og jeg synes det er meget fint. Selv har jeg også været deroppe, men jeg har set klinten ved en by der hedder Højerup, tror jeg, det var i hvert fald ved en kirke som næsten styrter i havet. Klinterne er meget imponerende og viser os hvor små vi er. Men også den mindre klint som du har fanget her er meget flot! Tak for det!
