Photographer’s Note

On a clear day you can see forever in the Canadian Prairies. In this location, just a few miles outside of Saskatoon, facing North, there was no tree, not even a tall clump of grass to use as a forground. All I could see was a big blue sky and all those colorful bands of road, grass, canola, wheat. A Meadow Lark was singing and there was slight breeze - very quiet, abstract, peaceful- it felt like another world.

This is a fine photograph, Marlis, I can hear the lark sing and feel the the slight breeze rustle my hair.
This reminds me of a portrait by Karsh where he had phtographed a famous Chellist from behind and only the back of his head and small poart of the Chello could be seen. A guy used to me andsit before the image in an exhibition for hours, with his eyes shut. Karsh asked him, what he was doing. He rplied, 'Don't you see, I am listening to the music'.

Wow! I think there's a phobia for this...

I like the way you've captured the big sky - just how I've always creamed the western praries looked. And now that song's going to be going through my head all morning... :o)

Esta foto me parece fantástica: por colores, por sensación de profundidad, tercera dimensión, pero sobretodo por las formas geométricas que dividen la imagen. Tiene mucha fuerza visual.
