Photographer’s Note
Taf Fechan.
Taf Fechan River, near(ish) Talybont on Usk, Powys. UK
You could be forgiven for thinking that this was a landscape format wide-angle shot with a heavy crop; but it's actually four portrait orientation photos stitched together, manual focused with exposure lock.
Bit of a gloomy day weather wise, and quite windy, but the shot is pretty representative of the way it was - and so often is in this part of the world.
Taken at the same location as yesterday's posting Changes - which featured the tip of the lowest branch of the tree on the far bank.

Hello Colin,
that is a very lovely shot. A good autumn-shot too. I wonder what the exposure-time was...

Good stiching, Colin! Great perspective and soft colors (due to the overcast), but the best of it is the nice flow captured here. Another good thing about the lighting conditions, it enabled you quite easily to go down with the shutter.

Hi Colin,
Four photos stitched together? Impressive. I would not have thought that. You made a really good job! That is always a soothing to look at water when it's captured with a slow shutter speed. But not always easy to get it right with everything outside not to be blur. Here, you succeed very well. Water is not overexposed and the colors of the trees are just perfect. Really nice picture"s"!

The work you put into this image has been justified. You can almost hear the waterfall.
Excellent!

Stunning shot! I like the way the water is blurred, and the waterfall radiates out at different angles. Wonderful composition with the trees overhanging the river. Great saturation as well. I like this one a lot!

technical very good job Colin,
it give a nice wide view and you did a good job with the stiched photo's. I can not the situation there, the photo gives a little a 3D effect and that's realy a compliment, because it's not easy to do that good. Well Colin I realy like this one. Will you tell us next time what lens you used.

Waterfalls are alwasy very imressive but here you did a good job to avoid blowing the highlights. The fall colors really add to your shot. Good job!!!

Colin,
You're quickly becoming one of my favorites and you're tipping me to some really wonderful locations. I feel like I'd want to crop this one just slightly on the right to reduce the area of grey sky.

Colin,
Fantastic job, well done sir!
The compo is great, perfect "velvet" water and the colours are gorgeous.
It reminds me of several mountain rivers in Wales I have seen when I lived there. I might have even been at the same spot.
In any case thanks for sharing.
