Photographer’s Note
This was taken on Kapiti Island, which is a nature reserve off Paraparaumu, just up the coast to the north and west of Wellington.
Native bird life thrives here. Strict controls operate to prevent rats and possums getting onto the island and spoiling the party for the birds.
Unfortunately it is very dark on the forest floor and the birds tend to move which doesn’t make for the best photos. This wonderful leaf did stay still for me however.
I shot this at ISO 800, no post processing other than the normal RAW capture, resizing and minimal JPEGing.

my kind of shot....garden or no...its real and its attractive...and it could be anywhere...i have a similar but vastly differing which i will advance tomorrow
i like the thought provoking nature of these types of photograph and the simple peace they bring
