This colorful aurora was just one moment in a four hour display during a solarstorm. The reflections in the lake were fabulous- it was a very dark clear night- no moon. Penny's Lake is a small lake in northern Saskatchewan. There was no ambient light.
For more info on auroras check out the 2 previous aurora shots.
I used manual setting, exposure was about 8 secs. I used Neat Image to reduce the noise.

another wonderful shot of this beautiful phenomenon...this time intensified by the stars scatterred in the night sky ...nothing disturbs the view, perfect!

Anothe amazing aurora! The reflections are great, and the stars dotted all over add to this magnificient scenery... I also appreciate the pier in the front... Very nice work! What I cannot quite understand is why you waited so long to post them... :-)

I was wondering what was the black bar in the middle of the picture until I read your comment. Then it was a WOW because the aurora itself is already crazy, but with a reflection on water, that's a first time seen for me.
I wish I can see such a spectacle too. I just had some samples of auroras two or three times around Montreal, but nothing like this.

Wow! What an amazing natural show mother nature has put on! I have never seen anything like this before in my life. The range of colours is so impressive, I wish i could see something so vivid and strange in the night sky. Well positioned, especially with the inclusion of the lake also, with the reflections an extra special addition. Superb.
