Photographer’s Note
This shot is looking through a viaduct built in 1806 at a bridge which was originally built in 1720. It spans across the river tees in a little town called Yarm in the north east of England.
Yarm has been around since the 12th century, it was even mentioned in the doomsday book.

Hello Ged,
The through look I find always very nice, beautiful old bridge, excellent composition and nice of colours. Geg, maybe a pity on the bridge I can see a small lorry or something a other disturbing element. But I enjoy of your lovely picture.
Best regards,
jhm

An excellent shot Ged. The light and detail of the stone and brickwork of the viaduct arch is first class. A perfect frame for the scene beyond. If my memory of history lessons serves me right, Yarm was the Tees Port before the building of Stockton and Middlesbrough. I think there is lots of potential there for a Yarm photo series; it is rich in history.

great shot and sharpness of all the details in the brickwork. but i agree with jhm. maybe you could of waited a little while, until the 4 x 4 and its trailer had gone and although its not important i would of also tried to use the clone tool to get rid of the gutter pipe under the bridge(going back to the trailer i was told by a good friend that patience is what photography is all about)i also like your notes giving us something to relay to in the history and dates of the bridge
otherwise a great shot

Hi Ged, I always like how you go for the unusual angle in your images and so here, it's a great way of looking at things. I really enjoy the beautiful light you have captured on the viaduct and how the sunlight on the bridge is beautifully reflected in the water. Very nice framing too with the greenery to the bottom right! Very well done! Sabine

The colours and textures are great. The viaduct frames the bridge nicely. The only very slight niggle is the large expanse of sky - a few clouds or birds would be nice to add a bit more interest.
Its still a very good photo
