I studied here between August 1985 and August 1990.

The draw of this town continues to amaze me. At the time I was there, I couldn't wait to be somewhere else. But ever since I left, I've never been more than a year before returning.

So much of what I am today was formed in this small southwestern Ohio town. Both good and bad, but that's most likely the way of most influences in our lives.

Maybe that's why my emotions about this town are so mixed. On one hand, I think of all the good times I enjoyed there; on the other, I think of all the times I was lonely and lost, without direction or purpose.

This photo was taken a few weeks ago, before I left Ohio to move to Chicago, Illinois, a city in which I've long wanted to live.
