In this situation, try metering off the sky to the side of the sun (so that the sun is no longer visible through the viewfinder) and then shoot with that setting. What you have here is underexposed. I can barely see some nice foreground branches which would have been very nice if only you hadn't exposed for the sun. Oh, and don't place the sun exactly in the middle of the frame.

Cedar makes some good points in her critique. I think that is the most incredible sunset! Absolutely stunning!

A great sunset exposed for the subject, but more consideration for the foreground would yield a more balanced image.
