Photographer’s Note
On the Californian Coast not far from Big Sur, there's a forest in which the aerobatic Monarch returns to every year to hibernate. The Butterflies travel from Canada down the coast, some continue all the way to Mexico. While standing here for 15 minutes I saw 3 new arrivals mingling with the others for a few seconds before choosing the spot where they'll rest for 4 months.
