Photographer’s Note

People in the streets with umbrellas: it's rainning.
Other people are waiting into this building, waiting the end of the rain.
The place?
Is just in front the beach, only crossing the street you are in the beach (I think that the beach is called "San Sebastián"). This is the "hospital del mar", the hospital of the sea.

If I am not wrong, some scenes of "all about my mother" by Pedro Almodóvar were filmed also here.

I don't think in a hospital like a "very nice" place for make a photo. But the light was so important here that I couldn't leave the camara.

Nice black and white shot Carlos. You did a good work with light and perspective managing to capture an interesting composition out of a scene of daily life.

Very attractive from the thumbnail.
I like the light widely surrounded by the black color and the gradual grey from the entrance. the different shadows are fantastic and well positioned !

Un contraluz muy chulo y el B/N le da un sabor especial. ¿Lo que se ve en el horizonte es el Mar? Si es así.... que envidia, como añoro descansar la vista en el mar.

Genial el blanco y negro sobretodo por los paraguas. Yo asocio el blanco y negro a la lluvia y el mal tiempo, como en aquella foto de James Dean... Buena elección.

Carlos, a dark photo reflecting the bad weather outside. The large frame created by the balck surround really gives a feeling of these people being trapped by the rain. The silhouettes of the different poses and their reflections in the shiny floor are superb.

Una foto preciosa, de las que crean ambiente y sentimiento. Es todo melancólico: el B/N, la lluvia...
Me gusta sobre todo la frontera difusa entre la luz y la sombra al pie de la foto así cómo las sombras que se proyectan hacia nosotros.
Lo más gracioso del juego de sombras es que aunque la puerta de cristal y su quicio son rectos, la sombra parece la de un arco románico.

Muy buena luz que viene de fuera, apesar de la lluvia. Buen contraste y nitidez. Me gustan las sombras grandes que se van apagando. Muy bonita foto, tiene algo de clásico.

Good choice of B&W here; I particularly like the way the darkness frames the image and the shadows on the floor. I also like the "story" of how some people seem to wait for the rain to stop and others prepare to use their umbrellas. Very well spotted

Esta foto te a salido esplendidamente enmarcada. La entrada de luz ha definido muy bien las siluetas de la gente. Y esos reflejos de luz en el piso le dan una buena profundidad. Muy bien!!!!

Aquí el B&N te ha funcionado de maravilla. El marco negro ayuda a crear como una protección para la escena central, con las siluetas y los claros de la luz que entran y se reflejan en el interior del vestíbulo. Una composición muy buena. Te felicito.
Déjame decirte que... me has hecho pensar en que eres como un vaquero del Oeste pero con la cámara en lugar de la pistola, siempre a punto de disparar, espero que tu entrada en el Hospital fuera solo "de paso", para seguir con tus pasos por el mundo periodístico urbano.

Une très belle compo avec une atmosphère incroyable que tu as bien réussi à capturer.
J'aime beaucoup cette lumière dans le fond qui donne envie d'avancer vers elle et de sortir de ce cette partie sombre et "inquiétante". On a envie de s'approcher des gens et de voir la lumière.
Le pdv et le cadrage sont très bon et ce n/b très contrasté est parfait.
