Photographer’s Note
Jean-François (Imagiste) and me, we wanted to participate in Aleksei Kolesnikov's theme. Unfortunately, after a wonderful summer, autumn is pretty gray and rainy! So, what's better than to go to the market in this grayish Sunday afternoon? And, wonderful!, there is a tower with a clock! But what we did not know was that... it did not work! :)
For sure, the Atwater market was more enticing than the weather that day! At least, for me!

Très belle photo colorée de ce fameux marché de Montréal. L'angle de vue est original et très agréable. J'aime beaucoup l'agencement de couleur de bleu sur rouge.
Bravo!

nice set of colors, uhmm I can almost smell the goods there
one of the things I enjoy the most is going to the market, plenty of colors and smells
I like the way you conveyed the market feeling, but only a few people!

Salut Claire,

Hi Claire....
Nice
"Daily Life" shot you've posted here. Sharp detail, and interesting POV, people thrown in amongst the produce gives a nice human element to the shot. I've been known to play around with some semi-desaturation in my photos. With all the red fruit and veg, I'm really temted to do some playing around with this one! Maybe I'll post a workshop when i get home from work.
For someone just starting out in photography- you sorted yourself some GOOD equipment! I had the Canon 300D (the model prior to the 350D), and it was a great camera. The one you have is a step above.
Keep up the great work!

I like the tilt here like she was reaching to the top of the frame, I think even a slight crop putting her in a corner would enforce this idea a lot, excellent variety of colors and sharpness, very well detailed, excellent shot Claire.

You know I think this tilting aspect on photo is very interesting. I see it quite often on Trek. It always comes across by saying lets break all the rules and let creativity reign. At any rate this photo is well suited for it.I work in the Produve industry and its nice to see it off level. Good thinking and good work. If yo ulook at my previous posting you will see how I used it on a railroad scne with my camera right on the track. Thanks for the sunset critique.

Ola Claire
oh well ... I have always wanted to critique this photo as I find this scene kind of reminder of the summer days ... yes summer is gone ... and so are the outdoors market with them.
I like the way you have induced the tilt in this photo as if to counter the way the girl is trying to reach the garlic.
nice colours on the fruits and vegetables in this photo ... unlike your blue jay, I can see all of them very clearly in this photo.
tfs .... I have always liked this shot ... sorry about the delay in expression of appreciation
cheers .... sarju

Hi Claire,
I missed this earlier shot in your portfolio. Very well composed and artistically rendered. The girl reaching upward with the boy looking on really enhances and provides warmth and dynamism to the scene. The array of vegetables and fruit laid out gives dazzling colour and the impression of a potpourri of riches of the earth. Well captured.

I am such a bimbo....(nudge nudge, wink, wink!)...the secrets club eh?!? Now I know what you mean...
Ok, I have a French fellow coming to live in my house in a month or so...I am making it my mission to polish up my French...! (well, learn more than just GCSE!) So, soon, you can expect some bad French from me :) I am slowly reading through your critiques, because you are so descriptive...
anyhoo...I like this market scene of yours very much...the tilt does not seem gimmicky at all - it works nicely.
Those vegetables look really lovely and fresh...my haven! Do you know where most of Canada's fruit/veg is grown?
