Photographer’s Note
The Southeast face of the mighty Kangchenjunga from Goechala pass in Sikkim. The pass is at a height of 16200 ft with the mountain rising almost 12000 ft further up. Silhouttes of people at the pass can be seen at the bottom of the image. The image was taken just after I left Goechala due to extreme cold after staying there for half an hour.
The peak in the image is actually the South peak of Kangchenjunga, which is about 400 ft lower than the main peak. You can also see the West peak of Kangchenjunga (Yalung Kang) as the round peak slightly to the left of the South Ridge (the ridge going left from the South peak).
The image has been reduced in size and sharpened.

I like very much this picture, with the silhouette of the pass and the people in the shadow... The little cloud adds to the quality of the picture.

A spectacular photo of this mighty mountain! And the mist below really adds to the overall feeling of this giant. The depth and shadowing really add to the beauty, too, as well as the small little people below!

The black foreground really makes Kanchenjunga stand out. It could be a little too dark, but it does balance out the whiteness well. A magnificient view well captured.

hi Ashin
this is awesome... again an amazing POV... the silhouettes on the pass provide some scale to the image... they show how little man is against nature... Kanchenjunga as usual is ethreal... thanks for sharing this...

Hi Ashin
this is a really good photo of this majestic peak ... and a very good idea to take this photo early in the morning or late evening ... just to get that effect of a sunlit peak in the surroundings of dark low altitude hills
tfs ... cheers .... sarju

It's a really impressive shot of this terrible south face (unclimbed until the 70's I think). Very beautiful picture. Maybe you could crop the dark area in the lower part.
