Photographer’s Note

A shot of one of the locals catching a few rays late in the winter. This young lass is a very pregnant Weddell seal. They usually pup round about August. Not the most common seal in the Antarctic, but definately the most commonly seen seal. They can be found all year round, usually lounging around by their breather hole, which they keep open by using their teeth as a giant saw.
