Photographer’s Note

A picture taken at Westkapelle on two hundred meter of the Netherlands borders, the background on one kilometer you can see the sky of Northsea.
Flax is an agriculture plant which out grows on the clay grounds of the Netherlands, Belgium and North France. There are two sorts at flax: fibre flax and oil flax. This flax have to a long time lie on the ground.

This picture is completely original.

Goeie morgen John,
een vlasveld zoals we er heden niet veel meer te zien krijgen. Mooi die gelige vlaskleur tegen dat fel groene zomergras en de blauwe zeelucht. Goeie foto van het vlakke polderland.

Hi John,

Back to the tried and true. You show that any scene becomes a great shot when you are holding the camera. You can pull out nice compos from the most usual views.

I really loved your two prior photos and I hope to see more "fantasy" photos like that from you in the future. They were absolutely top notch, as the scores clearly indicated.

hoi John,
mooie compositie, even iets waar je aandacht aan dient te schenken is een soort van onscherpte bij de lijnen van de horizon ernet boven eigenlijk. Dit kan veroorzaakt worden door Neat. Het heeft volgens mij met comprimeren te maken. Ik heb dat zelf ook wel eens. Probeer daar voor te waken. Goede lijnen in Uw foto, goede kleuren, zelf prefereer ik het carper format. Goed werk John.

Goedenavond John,
Prachtig vlak en vooral ook leeg landschap. De sterke kleuren van de velden zijn erg mooi, ook samen met de blauwe lucht. Mooie foto!

A well composed shot with superb colour, clarity and contrast. I like the contrasting field colours and the various lines therein for the eye to follow. Nature's pallette shaped by Man is in full display. A richly textured scene of the countryside. Well done.

A nice change from your complex forest photos, John. I enjoy how flat this one looks, and I find the textural details, the shapes, and the color ensemble very pleasant to look at.

niet makkelijk het idee van een vlak land te trekken, scherpte is ok, de verscheidene kleurvlakken mooi doortekent tot aan de horizont en een mooie strakke lucht, had graad iets op het voorplan gezien om nog meer dieptegevoel of een detail om het vlakke heel even iets te onderbreken. Perfect contrast en zonnige diepe kleuren, horizont centraal, had met een crop op 1/3 kunnen komen en meteen meer een panoramisch gevoel, wat een enorm wijds gevoel ... (5D is er).

Beautiful colors and contrast John, wonderful field view, maybe a smaller sky would work even better but you would loose a bit the differents tones of it, so nice result anyway, well seen.

The patterns in this field have the broad strokes of graceful calligraphy. It treats the eye to some broad strokes across and into the frame. And all across with fine textures and colors. I might suggest a crop of the top. Not much of one, just a very slight one. But as usual it is a fine landscape from you. You have again turned these flat fields into something interesting to look at by eyeing out the right things.
