Fall Pumpkins Photo

Photographer’s Note

Last week I had ocasion to be in Daly City, near San Francisco. Since it was a nice day, I opted to take Hwy 1 back down the pennisula. Along this route is the town of Half Moon Bay. Every fall Half Moon Bay has a pumpkin festival. This photo isn't a part of the festival just a pumpkin patch I came across while driving down Hwy 1 in Half Moon Bay.

Fine colors and POV. Pity the sharpness is good only for forst rows and all the rest is out of focus. To have a better perspective feeling I would either use higher f value, or alternatively with a low f value I would focus somewhere in the middle to hava both foreground and background out of focus.

What a fantastic view! Good composition, I agree though with the previous critique - sharpness could be improved. Nevertheless a fine POV.

This really makes me long to go to the pumpkin patch and pick my halloween pumpkins. Great colors and I like that you got low to the ground to bring us closer to the pumpkins. Nicely done!

I love the sharp focus on the closest pumpkin, Hilari, and how your depth of field gets blurrier from there. I think it adds a sense of mystery to the image, and clarifies the mood. Nice work!

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm far from home and getting no Thanksgiving dinner tonight, so instead I'm checking out the pumpkiny pictures on TE. I like yours a lot! The pumpkins here form a formidable army. I like how you have the one dominant pumpkin in the foreground, and then it fades to a sea of pumpkins in the back. Very nice shot - the Great Pumpkin would be proud.
