Cloud carpet Photo

Photographer’s Note

This photo was taken from our camping site in Kara Deniz Lake (wich means Black Sea), in the north part of Kaçkar mountain, northeast of Turkey. The lake was about 3000m high, and a carpet of clouds was allways present about 100m below the lake making the landscape marvellous.

This is a scanned photo and maybe the quality is not the best.

Superb shot and very good composition.
You cropped thos image just as it had to be to get this panoramic format which makes it all.

Nice shot Ricardo. But i have to correct that Kara Deniz is not a lake. it's a real sea.....

This is very nice shot Ricardo and I wonder why it has taken so few points.

Karadeniz - Or the Black Sea - is a sea which looks like a lake. But if one looks carefully he will find out that the Bosphorus and Dardanelles straits unite it to the Mediterrenean. It is not the case with the Caspien sea, which is a lake of salt water
hence they call it sea.

Ricardo, this is a beautiful mountain scene. The cloud looks almost like a sea between cliffs. The picture is well composed with the mountains framing the clouds well. It's a shame the sky is rather featureless.

Olá Ricardo,
Nos açores tive esta perspectiva em várias fotos que capturei junto à Lagoa do Fogo nos meus anos, só que as nuvens chegavam a centimetros da minha camara. Praticamente foi um dia cheio de dificuldade de origm atmosférica e o que valeu foi o cozido nas Furnas. Está excelente esta captura que realizou ainda com espaço e ponto de vista para ver o caldeirão de nuvens ;-)))

Excelente trabalho. Possivelmente eu optaria por cortar um pouco mais ao céu e intimar mais este cenário que é sempre ou quase sempre um momento unico.

Apesar do que escrevi na outra (2 years - Nostalgic view over the clouds), já não sei qual prefiro, pois as cores da outra estão muito mais do meu agrado.

bela vista da névoa a subir pelo vale acima, gosto do drapeado das montanhas. Aqui as cenas como esta estão ficando mais comuns agora que o outono avança e começa a esfriar. VC demorou tanto a voltar ao TE que achei que houvesse congelado na patagônia ou caído nas cataratas.hahaha. Estamos aguardando as imagens suas destes lugares e outros mais. Pois é, vc esteve bem pertinho de my home, quase 400 km..
