Photographer’s Note
Field's & Ferring
And today again something completely different: some modern architecture in combination with the newest shopping experience: the shopping mall Field's in Ørestad in Copenhagen.
Ørestad is a part of Copenhagen on the island of Amager. It is in full development at the moment since the start of the construction of the Øresundbridge between Denmark and Sweden, to give the area a new impulse.
On this picture you can see the new shopping mall Field's on the left, which is the biggest shoppingcentre in Scandinavia. Next to Field's, you can see the building of the pharmaceutical company Ferring. In front of that building you can see the metrostation 'Ørestad'.
I took this picture about two weeks ago, late in the afternoon, when Field's just had closed. The last customers walked away to their cars.
I hope you like this picture! :-)

Hoi Lars,
John.

The foreground looks quite industrial Lars, or is it the empty car park? The buildings are very modern with their strong vertical and horizontal lines. The colours contrast well with the blue of the sky.

Well it looks like a rather neat place, nice composition you got here. However, I don't like the lower-right side of the photo(this empty lot) which doesn't go well with all the straight and clear lines in your photo, I think.
Anyways, nice work!

Linas

Hi Lars,
Even though the architecture itself does not seem to bee much appealing, your photo is very well composed and nicely uses the shapes of the buildings. Well done.
Thanks,
Marek

Hi Larz

Yes I been here outside - but never inside this large mall.
I like the fine mix of graphics and colours you present for us here.

Lars, very nice ilumination. The atmosphere looks very natural and the black building has an extraordinary arquitecture, i like the contrast and the saturation of the sky.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Lars. I like the clean lines and modern design. You have captured the newness and energy of this place well. The light seems just about perfect for illuminating the subjects. Well done Lars.

Hi Lars, A well composed picture with the contrast of the two buildings. I like the arrangement of the foreground building lead to the tall building. A well taken picture with depth and sharpness.

Hi Lars,
Prachtig lijnenspel. High architecture.

Mooi blauwe lucht. Dat was bij ons niet zo de 30e.

Very strict lines and excellent management of the volumes in the frame.
I rather prefer the old places but this modern one is spectacular.
Well done

I like the geometries here Lars. The modern blocks, the mall and the office block, have that nice modern feel of resorting to basic shapes. The light stone and dark glass also make a nice contrast giving the glass a heavy look and the stone a light look. The perspective also gives a nice lead in to the office tower as a focal point. One thing interesting is the area in front of the mall. It seems to be let go or waiting for something to be built. I can imagine a nice marble plaza stretching out here instead but it looks like they may build on it?

Belle composition géométrique, Lars, avec ce building à droite et le bâtiment de gauche pour guider l'oeil jusqu'à lui. Les couleurs sont excellentes. J'aurais juste aimé un peu plus de contraste dans la partie basse à gauche.

Hej Lars,
I thought, I had already made a critic on this one...
It's a really good composition, from an excellent POV. I like the combination of the two architectures presented in here, well balanced with eachother, in vertical versus horizontal shape and white versus black colours. I love that part of the mall, in the back, which is very well positioned in the composition. The beautiful blue sky enhance the shapes and the interesting skyline that you composed.

The building on the left drives the eye to the center, where it goes to the dark building. Seems it's well and graphically well composed.

A good succession of plans in this group of modern (perhaps not so modern) buildings. The composition is very geometrical due to the simple style of buildings and their positionning in space.
All the best,
Emmanuel
