Photographer’s Note

On Sept 18 I took this photo from Whatcom Rd trying to capture this foggy sunrise. It was taken the very same day of my previous posting Barns in the Fog. This view shows a band of fog in the distance againest the mountains which we call the Cascades.
I have been trying to figure the best method of taking photos in fog. I also took quite a few photos and found the best method of correcting the exposure in the dark and bright sections is through curves in Photoshop. One frustration I found in this photo was taken at 400 ISO setting. That is the reason for the noise on the bottom field section. Darn it!
I have posted a photo from this same place on May 28th entitled Light of Dawn. What a huge difference from where the sun came up. It would be interesting to shoot this same place in December and record a compass reading. When you take photos throughout the seasons you start to notice these things. It helps in planning your photos in advance. Enjoy the scene
