Photographer's Note
This is the torii-lined stairs leading up to the Sanno Shrine located within the Hie Shrine. Take a look at Dinyar's shot from the other end. Traversing this stairway is very cool. At the start, you are on a very busy street. At the top you are in the cool, shaded precincts of the temple.
This temple is a famous "Akasaka" temple but it is actually located in Nagatacho. It is most well-known for the Sanno Festival which features an Imperial procession. If I remember the plaque correctly, Hie Jinjya is also the birthplace of dairy farming in Japan.

This is a great angle and gives me a sensation of falling towards my computer screen whenever I look!
Having the people at the base of the stairs really adds to the interest and perspective of this shot.

Good composition and great perspective. I like the colour but perhaps it could be a litle sharper? Great photo.
