Photographer’s Note
Above the mountain town of Nederland, CO is an alpine meadow where once stood a Cornish silver mining town called Caribou. The town is long gone, with only the ruins of three buildings and, if you really look, a couple stone foundation walls left to indicate that there was ever a town there at all. Nature has completely reclaimed its territory here. These scarlet paintbrushes are growing up from the floor of an abandoned house, the only wooden structure still visible.

Hi Rebecca. I like the composition and colors here for the subject shown. My only critisism would be that a deeper DOF would have been much better, in that the wood is good an sharp, but the flowers in the forground are blurred. Try a variety of apetures when shooting scenes such as this because that will assure a variety of DOF exposures for choosing from later. But still a big smiley for the effort.
